Please note the following policy decisions of the Government Registries and Courts in response to the threat of Covid-19. this notice is applicable up to 27, March 2020.

Assizes
The Assizes are suspended immediately.

Civil Court
Opening hours 8:30 am to 12 noon. The Registrar will advise by today, Tuesday 17, March 2020 after consulting with the Civil Judges what matters will be going on. Urgent matters such as injunctions will be accommodated. This may affect your case. Please contact our offices to confirm the date and time of your matter

Magistrate’s Court
The Magistrate’s Court will be opened only from 8:30 am to 12 noon. This may affect your case. Please contact our offices in order to confirm the date and time of your matter.

Land Registry
The opening hours of the Land Registry will be restricted to 8:30 am to 12 noon. No More Than three (3) persons will be allowed in at any time. All applications which are listed for hearing during the next two (2) weeks will be re-listed. Requests for searches and copies of registers are to be emailed to The Registry and then our offices will be advised to collect the following day unless it is an urgent matter where the request may be accommodated the same day. This will undoubtedly affect our ability to file within our normal time frames and the processing of matters in a timely manner. We will, however, endeavor to maintain timelines.

Intellectual property and companies registry

Opening hours are 8:30 am to 12 noon, no more Man three (3) persons will be allowed in at any one time. To request searches and for collection of documents our Chambers are required to email the Registry make arrangements for the same. Filings will be done subject to the 3 person protocol. This undoubtedly affects our ability to file within our normal timeframes and the processing of matters in a timely manner. We will, however, endeavor to maintain timelines

Labor Department
All hearings are suspending for two (2) weeks. We will contact you with any new date advised.
